If you accidentally sent an unsupported asset to Coinbase, chances are you might be in a state of panic.
Don’t worry, a new tool called Asset Recovery might help you recover your lost assets.
How to recover unsupported assets from Coinbase
Head over to Asset Recovery and click Continue.
You’ll need to fill in a couple of details for Coinbase to recover the asset.
- The transaction network: Ethereum, Base, Polygon or BSC
- Transaction ID: 66-character ID string found in the block explorer under Transaction Hash
- Wallet address: This is the Coinbase deposit address where you accidentally sent your funds to
After entering the details, Coinbase will attempt to find the unsupported assets. If they are found, Coinbase will show you a confirmation screen where it will reflect the asset and recovery fee (5% of asset value).
You’ll need to whitelist an address for the funds to be sent to – this can be done within the Coinbase app, and it may take 48 hours for the address to be fully whitelisted.
Once done, ensure that you have sufficient ETH in your Coinbase account to pay for the recovery fee.
