ENS or Ethereum Name Services lets you create a Web3 identity with a simple, easy to remember name to identify yourself.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to set an ENS primary name.
Find your DNS settings
Head over to the main app of ENS and connect your wallet on the top right.
Click on settings on the top right to dive into your wallet settings.
Under Primary Name select choose primary name.
Here select the ENS address to use as primary name.
Note that a primary name can only be set by the wallet that is listed as the ETH Address, or if it is the manager.
It will ask you to confirm the details and sign the transaction.
Once completed, you’ll see your primary name updated for your address.
Now go on and enjoy the vanity address across web3 dApps.
To clear your primary name, for example when the ETH address record is set to a different wallet, use a tool like ENS Tools to clear it.
